A growth channel

ACCRETIVE / adding to valueOur focus

01 / Our focus

Where distribution
meets opportunity.

We are interested in businesses where a clearer route to customers can change the investment case.

01

Financial
products & services

US businesses serving consumers and small businesses, with an existing product and customer economics that can be measured.

Who becomes a valuable customer?

02

Financial media
& distribution

Publishing and audience businesses where reader relationships, recurring revenue and disciplined acquisition can support long-term value.

What makes the audience worth more?

03

AI & marketing
software

Tools that improve how financial-media and marketing teams create, distribute, measure and convert content into customer relationships.

Does the product improve the economics?

A practical starting point

A working product. A clear customer. A commercial question we can investigate together.

02 / The approach

Understand growth.
Then build conviction.

We are developing an investment approach that brings customer-acquisition evidence into the decision from the beginning.

The aim is to learn whether a relevant growth channel can create valuable customers, and whether the resulting opportunity merits a deeper partnership.

Discuss an opportunity
  1. 01

    Find the commercial fit

Start with the product, the target customer and the constraint on growth. Establish where distribution or operating experience could make a meaningful contribution.

  2. 02

Define what would count as proof

For a potential pilot, agree the scope, delivery, data access and economics in advance. Look beyond engagement to customer quality, retention and acquisition cost.

  3. 03

    Consider the ownership opportunity

Assess the wider investment case alongside the commercial evidence. Media, operating support and investment can be considered individually or in combination.

Each opportunity is assessed individually. Any pilot, media access, equity arrangement or capital investment is subject to separate agreement.

03 / Why Accretive

Investment thinking.
An operator’s perspective.

Accretive’s focus comes from Tiz Gambacorta’s experience on both sides of the equation: evaluating investments and building customer-acquisition businesses.

The investment lens

Quality of growth matters.

Experience in investment banking and fund management informs how we think about business quality, valuation, ownership and risk.

The operating lens

Distribution is a practical discipline.

Building in financial publishing brings an understanding of audiences, campaign execution and the work involved in acquiring customers.

The founder lens

The economics must work for you.

Any equity-based partnership should make commercial sense alongside the alternatives. Preserving cash has value; so does the ownership you retain.

A few useful questions

Before we talk.

What makes an opportunity relevant?

We look for a clear connection between the business, its customers and the commercial contribution we could make. Useful starting points include:

  • An existing product and evidence of demand. Customers already using or paying for the product, with early signs of repeat use or retention.
  • A relevant customer base. A particular interest in US consumer and small-business financial services, financial-media audiences, and software serving these markets.
  • Economics we can examine. Visibility into conversion, acquisition cost, retention, gross margin and payback, with appropriate access to outcome data.
  • A specific question to test. For example, whether a new distribution channel brings valuable customers, or whether a software deployment improves campaign performance or operating efficiency.
  • The ability to support growth. A functioning customer journey, capacity to serve additional demand and readiness to meet the product’s marketing and regulatory requirements.
  • Aligned commercial expectations. Willingness to agree the scope, measurement, delivery responsibilities and any media or investment terms before work begins.

These are discussion points, not a fixed investment checklist. Include your website, current traction and the growth constraint you want to address when you get in touch.

Is every conversation about media for equity?

No. It is one possible structure. The right starting point is the business and the commercial opportunity. Any media, support, equity or investment terms would be discussed individually.

What should I send?

A short introduction, your website, who your customers are, and the opportunity you would like to explore. A concise overview is enough for a first conversation.

Where could we
create value together?

For founders, business owners and strategic partners with a relevant opportunity.
